Ask Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn about Gigabit Squared broadband

Ask Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn | KUOW News and Information.

Starting at about the minute 21.22 mark through minute 25, the mayor discusses the city’s much reported plans to work with Gigabit Squared in several pilots projects to bring fiber broadband to neighborhoods throughout the city.

The mayor says in this interview that the city will not be charging ISPs for the dark fiber over which to deliver high-speed internet access, in order to allow them to offer their services at prices competitive with incumbent broadband providers.
